Item tags — what they mean
Every item on BrokenInside carries one of three tags. They tell you the state of the device and what happens to it next — think of it like an organ-donor registry for tech.
The device is being given away or swapped — it's "donating" its organs (parts). It might get fixed by whoever takes it, or harvested for working components that save someone else's device. Either way, it stays out of the landfill.
The device is waiting on an offer — a trade, cash, or a free claim that's still being worked out. It's "on the operating table": someone wants it, and its fate is being decided.
The happy ending. A device that was posted as broken or unwanted got fixed or put back to work by someone here. The donor lives on — either revived whole, or its parts saved another machine.
You set a tag when you post; update it as things change. A DONOR that gets fixed becomes RESURRECTED — that's the whole point.
